Nancy Marks: Has more than 14 years of hands on horse experience in the horse industry when she designed The Winner's Way course. She held her trainer's test in multiple states and gained her knowledge through her own horse operation and employees. Nancy pooled her knowledge from trainers such as LeRoy Jolley, Woody Stevens, and Phillip Hauswald while compiling this course. Nancy has also conducted seminars for prospective trainers. She has a degree in counseling and is a practicing therapist in Southern California. Nancy was co-executive producer of Healthy Living with Jane Seymour
Maureen Millen: Maureen M. Millen: Has more than 30 yrs experience in most aspects of the horse industry. She owned and trained 2 AQHA World Champions, a Reserve World Champion, numerous Superiors, state, regional and local champions. She was a licensed racehorse trainer with 20 horses and 12 owners until adverse health of a family member caused her life to take a different path. Maureen was a Vet Tech, Equine, Canine and Feline Massage Therapist, a Certified Equine Appraiser and a Bloodstock Agent. An Expert Dog Handler in the early 1980's, she founded Advanced Animal Concepts, a organization devoted to rescuing, handling and training protection dogs, police dogs and search dogs. She wrote the The Racehorse Trainers Test in 1990. She and Nancy Marks teamed up to write the Claiming book and produce the videos. After purchasing the company that distributed a popular line of performance-horse videos in the mid 1990's Maureen went through some legal adversity from an unscrupulous business endeavor with the former owner/co-producer of those videos.
Surviving, then thriving, Maureen went on to become the executive producer of the award-winning PBS series, Healthy Living with Jane Seymour, Founder & CEO of IWV Media Group, Inc. and Healthy TV, Inc. In the late 1990s Maureen was a leading pioneer in the wave of programming exploring the mind-body-spirit connection, releasing more than 150 video programs & several TV programs in the spiritual, health and wellness genre. She was working on 17 new projects when her husband unexpectedly passed away and the decision was made to downsize considerably. Shortly after that a major car accident helped to rearranged her life's priorities. Currently, in addition to coaching prospective racehorse trainers, students and new owners she currently consults with TV talent and producers on content, distribution and sponsorship strategies at www.makeatvshow.com and provides an indie film review service at www.faithcinema.com.
Julie Parkhurst: Julie has more than 30 years experience at racetracks and breeding centers on both the east and west coast. She has trained at 26 tracks and training centers across the US, with an excellent race career, amassing an impressive winning average of over 20%. Julie is the producer of The Perfect Wrap video series, the first comprehensive video series on proper bandaging techniques. She teaches clinics on proper bandaging techniques, groom training, horse training and horse care. She is available for speaking engagements and is now booking clinics across the USA.
